Thicker films (above 8mil) disperse the impact force, reduce the depth of scratches, and even have self-repair functions. However, too thick may affect the fit and easily warp the edges. Experiments show that the scratch resistance of 8mil film is about 30% higher than that of 6mil, while 10mil can resist scratches from sharp objects such as keys. Reasonable selection of thickness requires a balance between protection and construction.
