A tinted window either keeps heat out or it does not, and the answer depends on what sits inside the film. Ceramic construction puts submicroscopic metal oxide particles into the polyester body instead of relying on dye, so the sheet blocks infrared energy by absorption rather than by a metallic mirror. There is no metal sputtering in the stack, which is the reason phones, GPS and keyless entry keep working after the glass is covered.
We produce this roll in our own plant: formulation, base film extrusion, coating, slitting and cartoning all happen on one site. That means a distributor can order one carton in a standard shade or a private label programme with printed packaging, and either way the film behind the glass comes from the same line.
HOW THE FOUR COMMON TINT TYPES COMPARE
Type | Construction | Typical gauge | Where it fits |
Dyed tint | dye layer bonded to a polyester base | 1-1.8mil | entry price points, short replacement cycle |
Metalised film | vacuum sputtered metal over polyester | 2-3mil | hot climates where blocking heat matters most |
Nano ceramic | ceramic nanoparticles dispersed in PET | 2-4mil | premium jobs that also need signal clarity |
Privacy tint | dense dye layer with one way viewing | 2-3mil | rear cabin privacy on vans and SUVs |
LAYERS INSIDE THE ROLL
Working from the glass outwards: a clear mounting adhesive, a ceramic loaded PET core that does the heat work, a second PET ply for tensile strength and shrink control, and a hardcoat that resists scratching during squeegee work. Because the ceramic is dispersed through the core rather than coated on top, the rejection performance does not fade when the surface is wiped, and the shade stays stable under years of sun.

WHAT THE DRIVER ACTUALLY FEELS
A ceramic sheet takes the sting out of direct sun on the arm and dashboard, cuts the load on the air conditioning, and keeps the cabin closer to ambient when the car sits in a lot. Glare off wet roads and low winter sun softens without turning the glass milky, and the interior trim, screens and leather stop bleaching under UV.

Film is made here, not bought in and re-branded. Functional masterbatch is formulated in house, extruded into base PET, coated with adhesive and hardcoat, slit to width and packed for export inside the same factory area. When a customer changes shade or thickness, the change happens on our line instead of waiting for an upstream supplier.

Ceramic dispersion, film casting, adhesive coating, lamination, slitting and packaging are all handled internally, which keeps batch consistency and cost under our own control.
Imported coating lines run with in line thickness gauging, and our engineering team modifies the machinery whenever a new shade or gauge is developed, so a trial order does not require tooling from a third party.

Polymer chemists, coating operators and QC inspectors work on the same floor, so a problem with adhesion or haze is traced to the exact process step instead of being passed between departments.
Every lot is checked for VLT, infrared rejection, UV block, adhesion and thickness against the approved reference before it is released, and the record travels with the batch number.
A standing warehouse holds automotive window film, PPF, architectural film and headlight film, so repeat orders in standard shades leave in days rather than weeks.

FIVE QUESTIONS DISTRIBUTORS ASK US
1. How is your ceramic roll different from a dyed tint at the same VLT?
A dyed sheet reaches its shade with pigment in the adhesive, so heat rejection is limited and the colour drifts over time. Our roll carries ceramic particles through the PET core, which lifts infrared rejection to as much as 99% while the visible shade stays stable for the life of the installation.
2. Can I test the film before placing a bulk order?
Yes. We send a short length or cut sheet so your installer can try shrink behaviour and haze on a real rear screen, together with the measured VLT and infrared rejection figures for that batch.
3. Which shades can be mixed in one order?
Five, fifteen, thirty five, fifty, seventy and eighty percent VLT are all produced on the same line, and mixed shades can be packed in one carton or consolidated in one container when you build a market assortment.
4. Will the film affect GPS, phone or toll tag signals?
There is no metal layer anywhere in the construction, so reception and keyless entry behave exactly as they do with bare glass. This is the main reason fleet and premium buyers move away from metalised film.
5. What is the minimum order, lead time and packing?
One roll opens the account. Standard shades leave in three to seven working days, and each roll ships in a 162x14x15cm carton with a rigid core. Private label cartons and printed core labels are quoted separately once artwork is approved.
