Carbon film is widely used on automotive windows. It blocks strong sunlight and harmful UV rays, reducing interior heat and easing air-conditioning loads. It prevents dazzling glare for safer driving. The film also offers privacy by blurring outside views while keeping clear sight from inside. Besides, it holds broken glass together when cracks happen, lowering injury risks. High-quality carbon film avoids fading easily and will not interfere with vehicle signal reception. It improves riding comfort effectively.
| Type | What is inside | Heat handling | Signal effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dyed film | pigment in the adhesive only | weak, fades with sun | none |
| Metalised film | sputtered metal layer | strong, mirrors heat | can block GPS and tags |
| Ceramic film | ceramic particles in PET | very strong, stays stable | none |
| Carbon film | carbon particles in PET | good, absorbs instead of mirroring | none |
Carbon is the middle path. It is not as aggressive on heat as ceramic, but it costs far less, looks deeper than a dyed tint, and never carries the signal problem of a metal layer.
Two ply construction is the reason this roll survives heat shrinking on a rear window without tearing or turning cloudy at the edges.
The roll runs from a light 70% visible light transmission down to a dark 5%, so one product can cover front side glass in a strict market and rear cabin privacy in the same catalogue. Installers usually keep two or three shades on the shelf rather than the whole range.
The film is produced here, not imported and re-boxed. Carbon masterbatch, base film extrusion, coating, lamination, slitting and packing all happen inside the same factory, which is why the shade stays consistent from roll to roll.
Every step from raw material to finished carton is under our own quality control, so a problem is fixed at the source rather than negotiated with a supplier.
Imported coating lines with in line thickness control, updated by our own engineering team whenever a new shade or thickness is developed.
Polymer specialists, coating engineers and QC inspectors working together, so adhesion or haze issues are traced to the exact stage that caused them.
Each lot is compared with the approved sample for shade, thickness, adhesion and roll length, and ROHS, ISO9000, MSDS and CE documents travel with it.
A standing warehouse keeps window film, PPF, headlight film and architectural film ready, so repeat orders in standard shades leave in days.
1. What is carbon window film made of?
A polyester base with carbon particles spread through it, plus a hard coat on the outside and a clear adhesive underneath. There is no metal layer anywhere in the sheet.
2. How much heat does it actually block?
Around half of the solar heat that hits the glass, because the carbon absorbs infrared energy instead of reflecting it. It is a solid improvement over a dyed tint, though ceramic still leads on pure heat numbers.
3. Does it interfere with my phone or navigation?
No. That is the main advantage over metalised film, which is why fleet buyers and owners of newer cars usually pick carbon.
4. Can people still see into the car?
From outside, the darker shades make it hard to see in. From the driver seat the glass stays clear enough to read mirrors and road markings, especially at night.
5. Can I get a sample, and what is the smallest order?
Samples can be sent for evaluation. The minimum order is one roll, standard shades ship in three to seven working days, and other roll lengths can be arranged for regular buyers.
