A chameleon tint is the one film a customer points at on the street. Move two steps to the side and the glass changes from green to purple, because the colour comes from thin interference layers rather than a dye. Nothing was sprayed, nothing was printed, and the effect does not wear off.
The version on this roll adds two things that make it practical rather than just decorative: a hardened surface that resists the fine scratches car glass collects at the car wash, and a fog resistant face so the window does not mist into a white sheet on a cold morning. Shade choice runs wide, from a light 90% transmission to a dark 18%.
| Type | Construction | Gauge | Where it fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dyed tint | dye layer plus glue | 1-1.8mil | budget jobs, short life |
| Metalised tint | sputtered metal on polyester | 2-3mil | hot climates, signal loss possible |
| Chameleon tint | interference layers with hard coat | 2mil | styling plus protection, no signal loss |
| Privacy tint | dense dye with one way view | 2-3mil | rear cabin on vans and SUVs |
Side and rear glass is the everyday choice. Windshields take the lighter shades so night vision and local light transmission rules stay satisfied. Showrooms and rental fleets use it on display cars and premium cabins, where the shifting colour reads as a factory option rather than an accessory.
From 18% for a dark rear cabin to 90% for front glass in a strict market, the same construction runs across the range. A distributor can hold three shades and still cover most customer requests, and mixed shades can travel in one shipment.
Coating, lamination, slitting and packing happen inside one factory. Nothing is bought in finished and re-labelled, so the colour shift stays consistent from roll to roll and a new shade can be developed without waiting on a supplier.
Raw material to finished carton under one roof, which keeps quality checks close to the process that caused any issue.
Imported coating lines with in line thickness control, upgraded by our own engineers as new finishes are developed.
Polymer and coating specialists sign off every recipe, and QC inspectors test each lot before release.
Shade, gauge, adhesion and roll length compared with the approved sample, with ROHS, ISO9000, MSDS and CE papers attached.
A standing warehouse holds window film, PPF, headlight and architectural film, so standard shades leave in days.
1. Does the colour fade after a few summers?
No. The colour is produced by the layer structure, not by pigment, so it does not turn brown or wash out the way a dyed tint does.
2. Will it scratch when I clean the glass?
The outer face carries a hardened coating, so normal washing with a soft cloth and shampoo will not leave visible marks. Abrasive pads and scrapers still do damage, as they would to bare glass.
3. Does it really stop the window fogging?
It slows condensation down and helps the demister clear the glass faster. In heavy rain with a full cabin, no film can prevent misting completely.
4. Can I still see out at night?
Yes, especially in the lighter shades. From inside the car the film behaves like a light tint with low haze, so mirrors and road markings stay clear.
5. What is the smallest order and can I see a sample?
One roll is enough to start, and a sample length can be sent for a test fit. Stock shades ship in three to seven working days, and other roll lengths are possible for regular buyers.
