A customer who wants a different car has two options: book a spray booth for two weeks, or put a coloured film on it. This roll is the second option, with one important difference from ordinary wrap film. It is a paint protection film first, and the colour travels inside the sheet instead of sitting on the surface as a printed or dyed skin.

That means the car gets a new shade and the same protection against stone chips, road salt and sunlight that clear PPF gives. When the owner wants the original colour back, the film comes off and the factory paint is still there.

What Sits In Each Layer

Four layers run from the paint outwards. A removable adhesive sits closest to the clear coat, then the elastic TPU base that gives the film its stretch and impact absorption, then the colour layer, and finally the self healing top coat that faces the world.

The important detail is the separation. The pigment is sealed in its own layer and never touches the adhesive, so the colour cannot creep into the paint or leave a stain when the film is removed years later. It also keeps the hue stable, which is why these rolls are built with an anti yellow base rather than a cheap aromatic film that turns amber after two summers.

Common Questions

1. Why choose colour PPF instead of a repaint?

A repaint costs more, takes the car off the road for days and cannot be undone. Colour PPF gives the same visual change in a couple of days and can be removed to bring back the factory finish.

2. Will the colour damage my original paint?

No. The pigment is sealed in its own layer and never contacts the adhesive, so nothing transfers onto the clear coat, and the film lifts cleanly when it is taken off.

3. How long will the colour last?

Seven to ten years on a well maintained car, longer if it is parked under cover. Cheap aromatic film yellows in two or three years, which is why this roll uses an anti yellow base.

4. Can small scratches be repaired?

Yes. Light swirls and scuffs disappear when the panel is warmed by the sun, hot water or a heat gun, because the TPU surface returns to its original shape.

5. Is there a minimum order and can I see colours first?

One roll is enough to start, so a new partner can test a shade before committing. A colour card and sample piece can be sent so the shade is confirmed against real paint before production.
